Hey meh, I've been following your blog for almost 6 months now without leaving any comment so I decided to quickly say hi today. Regards, Daniel from http://danieluyi.com
sorry for the extreme noob here but what is the kernal exactly ? I switched over my laptop from windows to Ubuntu 12.04 and then switched to xubuntu, is this important?
The kernel is the most important part of the operating system. Simply put, it's the program between the applications and the hardware. So, upgrading it improves hardware support, performance and stability.
