The process is a little long for describing it here, so I'll write a post about it.Wilson Santoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11297217775847303000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1264986330149680746.post-28355809154886088572013-02-19T02:34:31.328+00:002013-02-19T02:34:31.328+00:00To my understanding, the reason why they decided t...To my understanding, the reason why they decided to stop restricting the image size is not because they wanted to include Gimp and Gnumeric. They were already struggling to fit Xubuntu in a CD.Wilson Santoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11297217775847303000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1264986330149680746.post-37085600091015033832013-02-19T01:15:14.332+00:002013-02-19T01:15:14.332+00:00Hi, Wilson.

And I regret it because it is an excelent blog about Xubuntu.

This time, I have a request. Xubuntu 12.10 has Abiword 2.9 but the last stable version was the 2.8.6. I have been looking for a way to "down-date" the version or a .deb package to install Abiword 2.8.6... but nothing.

Do you have any idea to do that ? Many people have complained about Abiword recently, but it is because the 2.9 is not a stable version.

Thanks for your attention and sorry for my little English language skills.

Carlos-XfceAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1264986330149680746.post-11609205630769262182013-02-19T00:28:32.941+00:002013-02-19T00:28:32.941+00:00It is so fast to download gimp and gnumeric etc. ...It is so fast to download gimp and gnumeric etc. Why would the xubuntu maintainers include these in the iso? Anybody installing this will download updates anyway and after a few weeks the iso's version will be out of date. This only seems useful for people installing out in the bush or working off livecd's.Bjørn Madsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14664387004701157409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1264986330149680746.post-54817788434623831282013-02-18T15:02:15.247+00:002013-02-18T15:02:15.247+00:00Plus, old machines are not able to boot from USB.

A lot of older machines I put Xubuntu on don't have DVD drives. I guess there is always Lubuntu for those older machines now, I just won't have the benefit of knowing the DE as well.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
